Getting Ready To Begin

Jordan stood back and held the door open for me to pass before he entered the room that would be ours for the next two nights. From the quick glimpse that I got of the room before Jordan twirled me around, I knew that it wasn’t an ordinary room. The king size bed alone told me that.

“Hey,” he said when I was facing him. “You know what?”

I shook my head. “No, what?”

“Well,” he glanced at the floor and sighed.

“Jordy what’s wrong?”

With another sigh, he faced me. “The thing is Babe, this morning I woke up with a feeling. I didn’t know how to deal with so I decided to myself; I’d hide it to myself.”

I frowned, “What feeling Jordy?” I reached for him, worried that he had kept something from me.

“I don’t know what I’m up against, Babe. I don’t know what it’s all about. I got so much to think about.”

I shook my head in confusion. “I don’t know what you are talking about Jordan!” I gripped his shirt and demanded that he tell me what was going on. “Tell me now!”

His hands slipped over mine. “Believe me; you really don’t have to worry –”

“Well you are freaking me out!”

“I only want to make you happy –” He paused to bring my hands to his mouth. After pressing his lips against the back of my hand, he smiled at me. “And if you say ‘hey go way I will’.”

“What?” I pulled back from him. “Jordan why on earth –”

“But I think better still, I’d better stay around and love you. Do you think I have a case? Let me ask you to your face, do you think you love me?”

I felt like a complete moron. “You jerk!” I swatted at him. “It’s a song! I thought –”

“I think I love you,” he sang as he came towards me, his arms wide opened. “Isn’t that what love is made of?”

I turned and walked further into the room. “You are a jerk,” I threw over my shoulder as I plopped onto the sofa in the ‘sitting room’.

“I think I love you,” he continued as he joined me. “Do you think you love me?”

Rolling my eyes, I turned away from him.

“Oh Babe, don’t pout.” He moved my hair from my shoulder and kissed my skin. “Even though you look hot when you pout.” His lips travelled along my shoulder to that spot at where my neck and shoulder meet.

“I thought there was something wrong Jordan.” He stopped kissing my shoulder and looked up when I glanced over my shoulder.

“I’m sorry Babe; I didn’t mean to worry you.” Wrapping his arms around me, he rested his chin on my shoulder and sighed. “I heard that song this morning and I haven’t been able to get it out of my head.”

“Jordy,” I turned in his arms and faced him. “Things are going so great with us, I’m so worried that something will go wrong.”

“Don’t think like that,” he told me. “Just enjoy being with me Anna, just like I’m enjoying being with you.”

I stared at him for the longest time.

“Are you going to say something? Or should I leave you alone for little?”

I chuckled and he asked what it was for. “I can’t believe you think I would want you to leave me alone when I haven’t seen you in forever?”

With a grin, he told me that he knew I really wanted to jump his bones.

“How did you know?” I exclaimed as I did exactly what he said I wanted.

Jordan and I were getting busy on the sofa, his shirt had disappeared along with mine and he was working on my pants when he leaned too far to the right and toppled over the edge.

“Oh!” My hand jumped to cover my mouth as I stared wide eyed down at him lying on the floor with his eyes closed. “Honey are you ok?”

Jordan groaned as he rolled onto his side and pushed himself into a half sitting position on the floor in front of the sofa. “Yes,” he sounded a little surprised. “I’m better than I’ve ever been.” He motioned for me to sit up while he crawled up next to me. “Come curl up with me Anna.”

I waited until he was lying comfortably before I moved beside him and wrapped myself around him.

“You called me ‘honey’,” he said in amazement. “You never called me anything but ‘Jordy’ or ‘Babe’.”

“I’m sorry?”

“No, no,” he shifted until he was almost nose to nose with me. “I’ve listen to you call your ex boyfriends ‘honey’ and I thought it was the dumbest thing ever but now – I think it’s one word I want to hear you say.”

“You were jealous!”

“I was not!”

I snorted. “You were! That’s why you didn’t like to hear me call someone else ‘honey’!”

“You know what?” Jordan started to push me up off the couch. “You stink, I think you should go shower.”

“Whatever!” I grabbed a cushion and whacked him with it. “If I stink, you are rancid!”

We cuddled on the sofa a few more minutes before he talked me into going to take a shower. “Are you going to join me?”

“I would love to but I’m going to give you a couple minutes to yourself because, Sweetheart, this weekend you won’t have a minute without me! So enjoy it while you can.”

I pretended that I was eager to get to my alone time – I grabbed my overnight bag and ran from the sitting area into the bathroom. As I closed the door behind me, I heard Jordan laughing.
“You’re mine in ten Babe!”

Love it! They are so sweet together. It's like coming home.

they are sweet together, but its starting to lose plot line. im a bit over the whole "insecurity" bit. she needs to learn how to joke around... the minute she knew it was a song she should have joked back. she pouts a lot. i guess ill just never get over the fact that i see her as really immature - its just her actions.

and a preemptive plese dont jump on me. im allowed to have my opinion on it. i enjoy reading it so i do, but that doesnt mean i cant have an opinion on something.

Anonymous said...

I must agree with mantra, I think the story is starting to lose a lot of plot. It is basically Jordy and Anna making out or talking about making out or Anna freaking out. I am not saying there needs to be drama, but we do need something new.

Anonymous said...

Can Jordy just propose already???!!!

Lynn said...

I agree with my mantra also. I was getting tired of the negative references about Josh that Anna makes, like it is Josh's fault that she has security issues, I think she had those before she met Josh, and if you remember that Jordan has played with Anna's insecurity in the past.

I'm with mantra, it's another cute post of nothing. I am definitely over Anna's overdramatic insecurities. I'm ready for them to leave the hotel room and have drinks with Scott, let's get back to the story!

Anonymous said...

I agree with Mantra and anon... An idea for something new .. a post wehre they actually hook up, most of the time they make out and things get going then post is over or someone/something interrupts. Alot of posts are about wanting to hookup but not much about actually hooking up.. and i totally agree on the "insecurities" part too.

MonkeySpeak said...

well, you can't blame your exes for your insecurities - yea shit happens, but you move on, grow up and get over it. stuff happens but at one point you grow up and take responsibility for your own issues and baggage because its not the ther persons fault you feel one way or another its your own fault. only you can make you feel one way or another.

in once in this life the plot line continued pretty well and she was in a relationship the entire story. im sure this can work as well, but somethings gotta give. if i wanna think about making out with someone or sex ill turn on "skin-a-max" or call my guy hahahaha. ;)

cmon A, we know you got it, we want it. what about the other stories. im actually sad those havent been updated, much more going on in them!

I've always loved Anna's blog and I think she is a great writer. But I think the problem is the fact that it's been going on for so long. I mean, she went through the intro, the building of the climax, the climax itself, the the solution and I feel she's gotten to the end.

Anna said once, right after Anna and Jordan had sex for the first time, "what else is there?" I think she may be right.

It feels as though Anna is just trying to stretch it out because we are all addicted to this blog. But even the best novels/movies/TV shows end. It doesn't matter how great of a writer a person is (and anna is an amazing writer) because every story has an ending.

I, for one, am ready for more stories cuz we all know that anna's got a lot of em in that head of hers.

Why is Anna with Scott on the recent post in Never Had to Knock on Wood? Or is Tanner and Sarah just assuming that Scott is Anna's boyfriend? Are both the blogs on the same time-frame? Because on Never Had to Knock on Wood it says Scott was talking about how he inherited the hotel and was looking to hire Tanner as Restaurant/Banquet Manager, yet on View From This Chair Scott mentions he no longer works at the hotel and has exciting news that hasn't been disclosed yet. So is View From This Chair a few months ahead now of Never Had to Knock on Wood? Just some things I'm confused about.

TO: Just Me

...just so you know...the author's name is Angela, not Anna. You kept referencing her as Anna in your comment...

Anonymous said...

I don't think it's very hard to figure out what is going on. Angela had jumped this blog ahead to align with NHTKOW a few posts back. And, they are toggling back and forth in time close to each other. NHTKOW is a little ahead of this one as of now. So it seems to me that Scott is going to tell Anna and Jordan exactly what we found out on KHTKOW. That he owns the place and needs a manager. Where, I assume, Anna will tell him that she knows someone (Tanner) and will arrange a meeting. Unless, I'm all confused (and, assuming too much) and Anna leaves Jordan and gets with Scott and hooks Tanner up with a cool job.

awwww loved the post on tanner's blog! and c i think you hit it right on the nail... i def think that's what is going on... can't wait to see if we're right on monday! thanks for the post angela! (sorry i didnt write it on tanners page)

Not to be mean but this blog is sometimes predictable, so I'm going to take a guess and say Tanner wrongly assumed Scott was Annas boyfriend but I could be wrong.

Angela,

Why don't you talk to us anymore?
Did we make you mad? :(

Sandy

Anonymous said...

I was thinking the same thing Sandy. It's actually been making me sad that we don't get comments from Angela anymore. Getting those comments is just as exciting as reading the blogs.

Where are you Angela?

Anonymous said...

So what's going on?? I love this blog and have recently began reading "Never had to knock on wood" from the beginning and love that too...but I feel like because a few people spoke their minds, we're all being punished! That may sound a bit theatrical but it just seems a few people have pissed the author off and now she's trying to prove a point in some way. Yes, we were spoiled with daily postings in the beginning. No, we don't expect that, we understand that the author has a life but she has also proven that she has a great personality and I would just hope that we wouldn't be left hanging (like another blog that will remain nameless!) because a few people can be, for lack of a better word, jerks.
Anonymous only because I'm lazy!

Janie said...

Sandy, no I'm not mad at anyone. I don't have a reason for not commenting, I just haven't.

I have no intentions of leaving anyone hanging, I will finish these stories...it'll just take time.

As you all know, I have three story blogs and my posting on them has slowed down. Yes, I am having problems writing the stories, not because I don't know where they are going because I do know that, I just haven't been able to post anything I like lately. At least on this blog - the others have been easier for some reason.

Most won't like this but I'm doing another posting change - one blog posted to per week - this week it's Janie's blog, next week it'll be one of the others. You guys can choose which it is...

I hope you are all having a good day - check out Janie's blog this week ~s~

once a week?
whats the point anymore?
moving on....

Anonymous said...

Angela,
Thanks for the update. I have to admit after being spoiled with almost daily posts this seems....sad. But you don't get paid for this, its a blog you do as a past-time and I think you are doing a great job. I look forward to the next post.

Anonymous said...

So we'll get a new post every three weeks per blog? I agree, what's the point anymore?

Dido said...

It's great to hear from you Angela! And thanks for letting us know what is going on. I won't say I'm not disappointed about the amount of posts, but it will probably keep me out of trouble since we are heading into our busy season at work! Do you think you could increase the posts in the fall/winter? :)

Anonymous said...

This is just my opinion but I would prefer it if you just end two of the blogs and write on one. Personally, its going to be hard for me to get into the storyline if its only updated once every three weeks. I'm not saying that as a threat (like ooo you better write or I'm leaving), its just the truth. I will continue to read, I just think that a three week gap is too much. I understand that you have more you want to do with all the characters but maybe its time to wrap up their stories. All of your stories don't need to last a year. You seem like you have alot of ideas so maybe develop a new story idea and run with it for a month or so and then move onto the next idea. Maybe you'll be more refreshed and really enjoy writing again.

Anonymous said...

The whole idea of focusing on one blog only for the week is so I can post more than once a week for that blog and not have it one post every couple weeks. I've already posted to Janie's blog twice this week and have a couple posts in the works at the moment which is more than I normally have time for.

If you don't think it's worth the time to wait, then feel free to find something else. I'm trying to end all of these blogs and move on, this is the best way for me to do it without leaving anyone hanging.

Everyone needs to make their own decision for what works for them, like I have.

ok, I get it. I initially thought you were going to post once a week to one blog, etc., so we would only get one post per week...period. that's not what you meant. do what you gotta do, girl. I'll keep checking. I'm hooked on three of your blogs now, and I'm trying to read Amber's so I'm up to speed on everything.
take care.

I for one am thankful for ever getting to read anything you have writen Angela. You are a great writer and i enjoy your stories. I love that you are going to concintrate on one blog at a time and give more posts for them. I am getting into Janies this week keep it up, i love it.

And on another note anyone suggest any other blogs that are not too far started that i could get into, with the summer coming i will have more time to get into them???

THanks,
Chris

Oooo.. if I had a choice I would like this blog updated next week. Maybe it can catch up to Tanners. Thank for the update Angela! Now we all know what to expect.. BTW for the negative remarks....this is still more posting than some blogs out there.... I, for one, am pleased with this.

Oooh, yeah. I second the vote to update View next week. Hopefully catch up to Never. Loving be able to get a couple posts this week on Janie's.

And I have a 3rd vote to do this blog next week too then it can catch up to n.h.t.k.o.w. and we can figure out what's going on. And I kindof like this new way to blog better but I was scared for a minute there I thought you meant only one post a week of one blog. But I get it now.

And to Angela - Thank you for enertaining us regularly!! I know myself and others really appreciate it, it adds a little something to my tedious work day.

Anonymous said...

Personally I don't think we need to thank her for anything. She blogged, online, for everyone to see. She did it for herself. And while I found her blogs originally to be entertaining, I now find them annoying and trashy. Plus I truly suspect this is how she is in real life.

Anonymous said...

Wow! People can be real jerks!!

Angela, you're writing is incredible! Thanks for sharing your stories with us all, once a month, once a year, whenever it is a GIFT for us to read them.

To those of you that don't agree, didn't your mother ever teach you--"if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all"??

Ok ~s~ Unless there is a sudden flood of votes for Tanner's blog, it looks like Anna will be back next week!

----

Thank you Anonymous, I needed a laugh ~s~

It's funny how people point out the obvious and think it's ground breaking news. Every single blogger out there is doing this for themselves - they either need to tell people what's going on or they want to share because they think that someone else could benefit from their experience or they hope it'll lead to something bigger than this.

My blogs are stories, I started them for myself and I still write them for me - I'm just glad that others have found them and have enjoyed them.

I never asked for thanks or praise from anyone but I am thankful for those who have shared with me their thoughts and constructive critism. It's easy to critize someone just to be rude but it takes real strenght not to make it personal.

So thanks for finding my blogs annoying and trashy, must be something you like because you keep coming back. Or do you just come back to try to 'bring me down'?

Have a great day ~s~

I don't know if my last comment was taken wrong but I was only trying to be helpful.

Anonymous said...

can anyone give me some other blogs to read to fill the void until next post???

Anonymous said...

To anon 5/22 read "What My Heart Desires". OMG..Love story, adventure, thrilling etc etc. It has ended now, however, it's an amazing blog. Truly exceptional writing and will take you awhile to read.

"Getting Single" and "Newlyweds in a new city" (same author real life).

Hope this helps!

Anonymous said...

I haven't read the comments recently so I am a little behind. I have to say at first I thought you were posting one post a week for one blog on a given week. I thought holly crap that sucks but the clarification makes sense. Focusing on one story line has got to be easier then mixing all 3 at a time. ANywhoo I am loving the Janie/Devon thing:)

Angela, why haven't you made it necessary for us to have a login to post comments? I know it won't stop everyone from being rude and this is your blog/your choice, but I get irritated for you with some of the rude people. Seriously, if you are "over the blog" or even the characters stop reading. How hard is that?

Hadley said...

Angela, you've attracted a large number of readers and there are bound to be a few vocal downers. Please don't let them get to you or dampen your enthusiasm for writing.

Writing is hard and there are bound to be ups and downs. Sometimes everyone goes through periods where the writing just doesn't come easily, or the results aren't pleasing to the author. Keep at it--you are talented.

Anonymous said...

you're a bitch and shouldnt be blogging anymore...you are just vindictive and trashy, the only reason why we come back is cause we hope you have something good, but sooner or later, like now, we realize that its worthless. Adios!

Anonymous said...

Thanks for giving me a good reason not to care that you aren't going to read anymore anonymous. I wouldn't want someone so rude ruining this for those who have the good manners not to take their own shortcomings out on complete strangers.

Rebecca - you know, I'm starting to think that maybe signing in to comment is a good thing ~L~

Hadley - thank you for that

L - you are right, it does make it easier

I've posted some links to blogs I check out every now and then. Please check them out if you don't already read them ~s~

ashley - I know what you meant and I agree that's why I'm trying to tie up loose ends. I have other ideas, other stories and I think it's time to move on ~s~

So this week coming up, it's all about Anna's blog. Next week it's Tanner's.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend ~s~
